October Snow Day

We had every intention of hiking Bearhead Mountain this weekend, a nice trail just outside of Rainier, unfortunately we completely failed our mission on account of snow. I have to say, if there’s one type of weather I don’t mess with, it’s snow, especially when driving along a cliffside with an abyss of white coated treetops looming below.. So instead of a full day in the mountains we ended up frolicking through the snow a little before going shopping and eating Thai food. Can’t complain.

Despite the misadventure, we still had a good time because what’s not to love about a snowy little roadtrip, hot coffee, good music and excellent company? That’s right, nothing. We didn’t let the hiccup in our plans bring us down, plus I can’t say I minded playing in the snow for a bit rather than trudging up a mountain through it. Not only that, but the autumnal leaves coated in a little bit of snow dust was a gorgeous sight indeed. It was like a fall and winter 2-for-1 seasonal special!
